Absolutely outstanding Indian food! The flavors were authentic, rich, and perfectly balanced. Every dish was fresh, aromatic, and beautifully presented. Absolutely loved our meal last night and my rating would have been a 5, if not for the wait. It took over an hour for our food to arrive which was quite annoying since we arrived after peak (7:30ish). The menu is extensive. I’m personally not so great with spice but I like a little bit, so we ordered medium butter chicken (wanted goat but it was out of stock) and mild lamb masala. They were both definitely on the mild side and we will be trying the next level up next time. The lemon rice was delicious and hit all the right notes (my all time favourite rice). The wait staff were a bit rude while taking our order however I’m not taking this into consideration since they were still recovering from the rush and it was very clear it was stress. Highly recommend, however I would suggest going much earlier or after 8pm!

We had one of the Chatts which looked different from the picture we had thought it was, but was excellent. A cool yoghurt salad but not really, we really enjoyed it. The Mild Mango Chicken was sweet and a little spicy. The service was fast and we really enjoyed the meal.

Decors are inviting nd the staff are friendly. food is exceptionally good and authentic, bursting out flavors. Highly recommend the butter chicken, biryani and garlic manna.

We read reviews online so decided to try out this place. We ordered the goat briyani, traditional goat curry, mango chicken (because my daughter can’t take spice at all) and the garlic and butter naan. And everything was so yum! We really enjoyed our lunch and I think if given a chance, we will definitely be back again!

A solid choice for Indian cuisine in Bairnsdale. The Mango Lassi and fresh apple juice were standout drinks—very refreshing. The Butter Chicken was delicious, hitting that perfect creamy consistency, especially when paired with their fresh naan. The Biryani had good flavor, though the spice felt a bit like it came from a concentrated chili extract rather than whole spices. We also tried the Royal Falooda; it was decent, though a little heavy on the rose syrup for my taste. Overall, a yummy experience

Diwali at Maharaja was wonderful. Food and service was made and presented extremely well. The food never disappoints especially as my wife is Indian, and compares it favourably to that of India. Recommended for anyone looking for authentic Indian food in Bairnsdale. We come here very often as we love the food and the staff!
